Gersson Rosas hopeful to get Timberwolves back in the playoffs

Timberwolves, Gersson Rosas

Newly-appointed Minnesota Timberwolves team president for basketball operations Gersson Rosas has already set his sights on a postseason comeback for his team next season.

According to the 41-year-old team executive, he has every intention of bringing the Timberwolves to the playoffs again next season following a disappointing year that ended with an early summer vacation.

As Rosas indicated in his statement, he was a first-hand witness to the energy the city exuded as their team took part in last season’s playoffs festivities following an extended hiatus.

Prior to making the move to Minnesota, Rosas was a long-time servant for the Houston Rockets organization — the team that eliminated the Wolves in the first round of the playoffs last year.

Albeit brief, the Wolves have already had a taste of the postseason and will be hungry to make another run next year.

Rosas was with the Rockets for nearly two decades as he helped build the team into the contenders that they are today. He hopes to bring the same type of success to Minnesota, and it is this experience that practically landed him the job against all the other noteworthy candidates on the list.

The Wolves had quite a tumultuous season, filled with a lot of drama throughout.

Rosas will hope to move past all this, as he looks to usher in a new era of basketball to the city of Minnesota.
