First returns of NBA All-Star voting by the fans released

NBA All-Star Game

The first returns for the All-Star Game starters are already in.

With the first set of votes counting as double, fans did not waste time to cast them for their favorite players and those they think deserve to be part of the exhibition game the most. Familiar names lead the list of top vote-getters with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo receiving the most among all players so far. LeBron James and Joel Embiid join him in the frontcourt for the East while Kyrie Irving and DeMar DeRozan lead the backcourt after the first returns.

The West on the other hand has two Golden State Warriors players with the most votes as Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are on their way to once again start for their conference. They could be joined by Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins and James Harden if the results remain the same throughout the voting window.

It’s worth noting that the format for the festivities this year has been changed, with the captains for both conferences participating in a draft where they will have the opportunity to choose their teammates from a pool of players voted as starters and reserves. The two captains will be the top vote-getters from each conference which will be announced on TNT on January 18 at 6 p.m. EST.
