Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker react to Ryan Anderson signing with Rockets

Ryan Anderson spent two seasons with the Houston Rockets before being shipped to the Phoenix Suns in the 2018 offseason. Now, the 6-foot-10 stretch big is reuniting with his old team after signing a partially guaranteed deal with Houston.

Rockets veteran guard Eric Gordon and forward PJ Tucker reacted to the stunning news, welcoming their old teammate back into the fold.

Per Ben DuBose in USA Today Sports’ Rockets Wire:

“It’s great having him back,” Gordon said of Anderson, who he also played with on the New Orleans Pelicans. “Me and Ryan have been teammates for seven, eight years. He’s always been a close friend of mine. It’s really good to have him back.”

“It’s good to see Ryno,” Tucker added. “Ryno is one of the best shooters I’ve ever played with. On our team, having more shooters is a good thing. He’s got length. He’s a really good addition.”

The 31-year-old Anderson spent four-plus months with the Suns before his sojourn away from Clutch City continued with a brief stint with the Miami Heat to end the 2018-19 season.

Anderson was waived by the Heat over the summer, with his bloated contract being the main reason for his constant movement within the NBA and, initially, away from the Rockets.

In his two seasons with Houston, Anderson averaged 11.6 points per game, shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range.
