Eric Gordon acknowledges Rockets’ ‘winning mentality,’ says quest for title starts now

The Houston Rockets notched their seventh straight win on Friday following an easy victory against Eastern Conference contenders, the Philadelphia 76ers, 107-91. Rockets guard Eric Gordon contributed 17 points (on 6-of-10 shooting), five three-pointers, a rebounds, and three assists in this one, and following another efficient performance, the veteran wing had nothing but good things to say about his team’s performances of late.
According to the 30-year-old, the type of mentality they’ve equipped themselves with has played a huge role in their recent onslaught, and that this is exactly what they need to make it to the pinnacle of the NBA.
Eric Gordon on the Rockets’ run: “We all have been playing with a winning mentality. Everybody is playing for one another That’s why we’ve been on this win streak. If you want to win a championship, it starts now, building habits. We will see what we are made of down the line.”

With the playoffs fast approaching, Gordon and the Rockets are peaking at the perfect time. They had a slow start to the season, which transitioned into an up-and-down past few months. However, they have been on a tear of late, and it seems that the team have found another gear.
The disappointment of last season’s Western Conference Finals defeat against the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors, remain fresh in the minds of the entire Rockets team, and surely, they will want to do avenge their heartbreaking Game 7 defeat from last year.
With how they have been playing of late, it appears that the Rockets do have what it takes to improve on last season’s letdown, and as Gordon says, they now have their eyes set on the ultimate prize, and every single person on the roster will be going all out to achieve their goal.
