Draymond Green yelled in front of Chris Paul’s brother during celebration
Draymond Green had no chill after clinching a fourth-straight trip to the NBA Finals, yelling at the top of his lungs as he walked in front of Chris Paul’s brother, C.J. Paul in what turned into a mini victory parade after a 101-92 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday night, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.
Spears described the post-game scene to SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt, noting emotions were running high on both sides, with the Warriors glad to have escaped Houston with a victory, seizing another trip to The Finals, while the Rockets were utterly sad of falling short of reaching that long-awaited spot.
Green’s emotion was not directed at Paul’s brother, who noted the Rockets point guard was saddened to fall short in such circumstances.
“Chris is sad. He’s a sad puppy dog right now. He was so close. We’ll be back,” C.J. Paul said after the game.
This was coming only days after Chris’ father said his son wasn’t down of himself because of the untimely postseason injuries throughout his career, though that obviously has changed as the Warriors stormed back in the series to stave off elimination.
This loss will surely sting for the Rockets and general manager Daryl Morey, who admitted to his obsession with this team and had the entire team and coaching staff buy into his offensive theory, one which ultimately bit him hard, as the Rockets made history for futility, missing 27 straight 3-pointers against the Warriors in the most crucial of times.
