Draymond Green says he suffered ankle injury in Game 7 vs. Rockets

The Golden State Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals, but it wasn’t without adversity in the toughest moments. The team faced a 3-2 deficit without one of their best one-on-one defenders in Andre Iguodala, and still overcame that to advance to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive time. It appears in the process, they’ve been hit with some good injury luck after already having to deal with Iguodala’s injury.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, forward Draymond Green suffered a sprained ankle sometime during the fourth quarter of Game 7 against the Houston Rockets. Green was able to finish the game and close Houston out, but said he couldn’t feel anything right away because of the adrenaline.

“I told [trainer] Chelsea Lane during the game that I rolled my ankle badly, and I don’t feel a thing right now. I know it was the adrenaline,” Green told ESPN. “After the game, wooooo.”

With the Warriors having two days off, however, before the start of the NBA Finals, Green confirmed that his ankle injury is nothing to be concerned about and that he doesn’t expect to miss time despite Haynes reporting that he had a noticeable limp after the game.

“I’ll be good, though,” he said.

Green finished Game 7 with 10 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block in 44 minutes of action.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is on Thursday night in Oakland at 9PM EST.
