After their Game 2 loss to the Houston Rockets, Draymond Green was quick to acknowledge their mistakes. According to him, the Golden State Warriors lacked the “game plan discipline,” and it proved to be the difference maker.
As posted by NBA TV, Green said in part:
“Our game plan discipline just wasn’t there. I think we settled a lot for isolations. But, those same isolations worked in the first game. I think we could’ve moved the ball a little bit more. We were bad on the defensive end. It was not the offense.”

Though Green said that there weren’t any problems in their offense, post-game statistics beg to differ. The team’s field goal percentage was pretty decent at 45.9 percent. Green, though not really known for his offensive arsenal, scored six points on 40 percent shooting. These are average numbers given Green’s standards but six points just seem too few for a playoff game.
But if we take a look at Stephen Curry’s statistics, he was just 1-of-8 from distance. A horrendous showing given that he’s one of the prime weapons of his team on offense. Not only that, he’s regarded by not a few to be one of the greatest shooters of all time. Klay Thompson, for his part, scored just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting. He also drained two three-pointers out of four attempts.
Whether or not Green’s words and the statistics add-up, one thing is clear: the Warriors lost to the Rockets. They’re still not in danger of losing control of the series as it’s still knotted at one apiece. And knowing Draymond Green and his competitive spirit, they’ll eventually figure things out.
