Draymond Green makes bold claim about PJ Tucker after Game 2 performance for Rockets vs. Lakers

Rockets, Draymond Green, PJ Tucker

PJ Tucker was excellent yet again for the Houston Rockets on Sunday in Game 2 of his team’s second-round matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. It was LA that emerged victorious with a 117-109 win, but it did not stop Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green from coming up with a bold claim about Tucker.

Green was particularly impressed with Tucker’s sharpshooting on Sunday, and the Dubs forward came out to say that he believes the Rockets forward is the very best in one particular category:

PJ Tucker did go 4-of-7 from distance in the game for 18 points. He also had 11 boards, a steal and a block, so there’s no denying that the vet was remarkable despite the defeat. He also drained a couple of key triples throughout the contest, which prompted the high praise from Draymond Green.

Game 2 turned out to be quite a contest between the two sides, with the Rockets coming all the way back from 21 points down in the second period to keep the game close. They even took the lead in the second half, outscoring LA 41-23 in the third quarter alone. It was thanks in large part to Houston’s accuracy from distance, with the team going 22-of-53 overall from 3-point territory on the evening.

The Lakers exhibited their mental fortitude, though, holding out the Rockets in the fourth to emerge with the crucial victory. It was LA’s superstars that led the way for the Lakers, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis combining for 62 points on 25-of-42 from the floor.

The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for Tuesday night.
