Draymond Green follows up on peacemaking with Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley, Draymond Green

It appears that Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green has finally buried the hatchet with TNT host and basketball Hal of Fame inductee Charles Barkley. In their first face-to-face meeting after Barkley’s untoward comments towards Green, the two kept it professional and fortunately, no punches were thrown.

The 28-year-old forward has now taken it a step further by confirming in an interview with Michael Lee of Yahoo! Sports that there is no bad blood between himself and the Phoenix Suns legend.

Green hit the nail on the head here, as he exhibited his maturity by putting an end to his beef with Barkley. After their astounding come from behind victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals Saturday night, the Warriors will need to remain focused at the task at hand. No distractions of any sort are welcome as they prepare for a do-or-die Game 7 war and throwing this issue out the window was definitely the wise thing to do for Green.

The reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year winner is coming off of a noteworthy Game 6 performance. Despite scoring only four points for the Dubs, Draymond Green stuffed the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, and five blocks in a little less than 37 minutes of playing time.

Green will need to be at his usual best yet again come Monday night as the Warriors look to make it back-to-back wins against James Harden and his Rockets to clinch the Western Conference Championship.
