Dejounte Murray downplays shoving incident with James Harden
San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray downplayed the importance of a shoving match with Houston Rockets star James Harden during Monday night’s game, calling it “nothing.”
Asked what happened between him and the NBA’s leading scorer, the young floor general said “it’s just basketball,” hoping not to make much of it, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.
Harden body-checked Murray after a score, to which the Spurs guard took umbrage, responding with a shove that barely moved him back half a foot:

Murray was not happy at all with the unnecessary contact, giving away more than 30 pounds to the former league MVP.
There was bad blood brewing from the last matchup between these two teams, one the Rockets protested after a made dunk by Harden in the fourth quarter went uncounted by the officials. The league determined it wasn’t egregious enough to determine the outcome of the game, considering the Rockets proceeded to blow a 16-point lead soon after the gaffe.
Harden also had three chances to wrap up the game in Houston’s favor, but was called for two offensive fouls and missed a floater.
Murray knew Houston would be out for blood after San Antonio walked away with a 135-133 win weeks ago, but this time it was the Rockets coming back from a large deficit to stun the Spurs, 109-107.
The Washington native was the primary defender on Harden, giving him fits throughout the game and forcing him into a 10-of-29 shooting night (34.5%) to get his 28 points:

Both teams will have to wait until the end of the season to meet again, as their next game will be on Apr. 8 and then again on Apr. 12 to close out this four-game series between the two Texas teams.
