Daryl Morey says there are ‘6 really good teams’ in the West, Rockets are the best

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey says while there are “six really good teams” in the Western Conference, his Rockets are the best team.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets and Rockets are all considered contenders for next season. Morey is riding with his guys and believes Houston should be the favorite to win it all season:

The Lakers, Clippers and Rockets each have two superstars on their respective rosters. The Lakers have LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Clippers have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and the Rockets have James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

The Jazz are led by Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, the Nuggets have Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris and Paul Millsap, and the Warriors have two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green, and All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell. Warriors star Klay Thompson will miss the majority of next season recovering from an ACL tear.

The Rockets are the only team in the NBA currently with two MVPs. Daryl Morey believes Harden and Westbrook will be able to lead Houston to the championship next season. First, though, the Rockets have to win the Western Conference, and that’s not going to be easy.
