Clippers PF Montrezl Harrell gets revenge against team that traded him with career-high 30 points vs. Rockets

Montrezl Harrell

The Los Angeles Clippers bounced back from their loss to the New Orleans Pelicans last Tuesday by taking down the James Harden-less Houston Rockets on the road, 133-113, on Friday evening. With or without Harden, it was a sweet victory for the Clippers nonetheless, especially for forward Montrezl Harrell, who went full John Wick on his former team.

Not that the Rockets hurt Harrell’s dog or anyone close to him, but the Louisville product made sure to let them know that it was a bad decision on their part to include him in the trade package that was sent to the Clippers in exchange for Chris Paul last year.

In the win over the Rockets, Harrell dropped 30 points on an efficient 8-for-13 shooting from the field. He did more than just get buckets, as he also stuffed the stat sheets with six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 28 minutes of action.

As noted by Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, it was Harrell’s best scoring output so far in his NBA career.

Montrezl Harrell was a second-round pick by the Rockets in 2015, but struggled to find meaningful minutes and regular role during his time in Houston. In Los Angeles, however, Harrell seems to have found a home. So far this season, he is averaging a career-high 20.8 minutes per game while averaging 13.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He’s also been shooting a fantastic 60.5 percent from the field.

Harrell and the 3-2 Clippers will look to make it two in a row this coming Sunday against the Washington Wizards at home.
