Clint Capela posts heartfelt message to James Harden for star’s birthday

James Harden Clint Capela Rockets

Clint Capela and James Harden are no longer teammates on the Houston Rockets. However, their friendship will last forever and that’s more important than basketball.

Capela, who plays for the Atlanta Hawks now, wished the Rockets star a happy birthday on social media with a heartful caption.

I wanted to take time to wish my big bro a happy belated birthday! I appreciate you brother, for real. The vault is deep, 6 YEARS, but had to bring out a few flashbacks to highlight you on this day to show the love you’ve shown me since I got to Houston… introduced to a new city, language, [and] life.

You made sure I stayed locked in and secured myself first. You’ve helped me grow and learn a ton about what’s important. Go get it!

Houston traded Clint Capela to the Hawks at the 2020 trade deadline. The Rockets center finished his Houston career with averages of 12.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 334 regular-season games.

James Harden helped Capela get a $90 million contract from the Rockets in the summer of 2018. The 26-year-old was the recipient of a ton of lobs from Harden during their days as teammates as Rockets and that’s one of the main reasons he averaged a double-double the last three years.

Harden and the Rockets are currently tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. Capela and the Hawks, meanwhile, weren’t invited to Disney World since they had the second-worst record in the NBA before games were suspended in March.
