Chris Paul reacts to Pistons’ Blake Griffin’s game winner

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Pistons, Rockets

Pistons big Blake Griffin and Rockets guard Chris Paul were believed to have a tense relationship behind closed doors when the two stars were teammates on the Los Angeles Clippers. Their actions on the court last season when the Clippers took on the Houston Rockets only added more fuel to the fire that they didn’t like each other.

That’s why many were surprised to see Chris Paul shout out Blake Griffin Tuesday night on Twitter. Griffin scored a career-high 50 points against the Philadelphia 76ers and hit the game-winner as well.

They do say that time heals everything. Maybe Chris Paul wants to patch things up with Blake Griffin? Who knows. Paul is serving his two-game suspension right now after the fight he got into with Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo Saturday night at Staples Center. Just like the rest of us, Paul was enjoying some Tuesday night hoops, and liked what he saw from his former teammate.

During the Chris Paul –  Blake Griffin – DeAndre Jordan era, the Clippers were always one of the best teams in the NBA during the regular-season and looked primed to contend for a championship year after year. The Clippers, however, never made it past the second-round of the playoffs and often got in its own way with big time collapses and mental mistakes.

The Lob City era will always be one of the biggest “what ifs” in NBA history. At least it appears whatever beef Chris Paul and Blake Griffin had is gone.
