Chris Paul questionable for Game 7; final decision to be made Monday afternoon

Chris Paul

Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni has announced that Chris Paul is officially questionable for Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors, and a determination probably won’t be made until Monday afternoon when he is looked at by team doctors.

It also sounds like that Paul hasn’t yet tested his hamstring, so it’s really hard to have any idea if there is a chance that he will end up playing.

The Rockets got out to a fast start in Game 6, but without Paul, they had a hard time keeping a lead, and they ended up getting blown out.

Even with Paul, the Rockets are going to have their hands full trying to beat the Warriors, but if the Rockets do end up having to play without Paul, James Harden is still confident, that his team can still get the job done, and advance to the NBA Finals.

“We’ll take that,” Harden said after Houston’s 115-86 loss to the Warriors at Oracle Arena via ESPN. “So nothing changes for us. We know what we have to do. … We’re still confident. We’re a confident group, and we’ve just got one chance.”

Gerald Green also echoed the same thoughts and thinks they can build off what they did in the first half during Game 6, and build on that in Game 7.

“Obviously with Chris being down, that’s [tough], but we’re a confident team,” Rockets reserve swingman Gerald Green said. “We’re a confident bunch. What we did in that first half, that shows what we can do. We can even do more than that. We still made mistakes, but we’ve just got to put a string of 48 minutes together.”
