Chris Paul not sure how Clippers fans will treat him

Chris Paul

Chris Paul has been known as one of the best point guards in the NBA, affectionately known as the “Point God.” In 2011, Paul got traded from the New Orleans Hornets to the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent the next six years there bringing the Clippers to contention with the All-Star frontcourt of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Although the Clippers never made it past the second round of the playoffs, they were a great team in their own right, even defeating the NBA champion Spurs in the first round in 2015.

This summer, Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets, and now the Rockets have become a potential threat to defeat the Golden State Warriors. With so much success this season, Paul is wondering how the Clippers’ fans will receive him on Monday, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Chris Paul fondly remembers “a lot of great times” with the Clippers but isn’t sure how fans will treat him in his first game against his former team. “I’ve been booed before. I don’t know one way or the other, but I’m going to go out and hoop and have a good time.”

The Rockets will battle the Clippers on the NBA’s MLK Day headline on Monday. In their previous game, the Clippers stole the victory from the Rockets in 2017. In that game, Paul didn’t play because of an injury, but he will play on Monday night.

With James Harden out with a hamstring injury, it will be up to Paul to lead the Rockets to a victory. Hopefully, the fans will thank him for his service to the franchise in Los Angeles on Monday night.
