Chris Paul is excited about the potential of the Rockets

The Houston Rockets will get their second highest-paid player Chris Paul back in action for the first time since Oct. 18 when the they take on the Phoenix Suns Thursday night. Despite missing action, the All-Star point guard says he is happy with how the team’s mindset has been every game.

Via Mark Berman of Fox 26:

“I’ve said it before. It’s only a few teams in this league I think that really goes into every game knowing that they can win that game every night. I think we’re one of those teams.” said Paul

This is Chris Paul’s first game since bruising his left knee on opening night after registering four points 10 assists and eight rebounds in 33 minutes of action against the Golden State Warriors. With a month off the court, the Rockets’ superstar addition will need some time to get his body back into shape, but he’s more than up for the challenge.

“There’s nothing like playing a game, so I’m excited about the process of it.” Paul told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have been playing great basketball under the leadership and reliance of James Harden, who is emerging as an early leader in the MVP race, which was the tactic the team used last season on their way to 55 wins.

Chris Paul signed with the Rockets over the summer and the belief is that he will alleviate some pressure off of Harden to keep him as fresh as possible for the postseason.

For now Harden may need to keep producing at his current pace for just a little longer until Paul is back to being his old self.
