Chris Broussard betting Rockets’ James Harden will go down as a ringless all-time great similar to Charles Barkley, Karl Malone

Chris Broussard, James Harden, Rockets

There is no doubt that Houston Rockets megastar James Harden has already cemented his legacy as one of the best offensive players in NBA history. He has an MVP trophy and statistical records to show for it. However, as phenomenal as he has been over the past couple of years, he has always come up short in winning an NBA championship.

The Rockets were unable to get past the Golden State Warriors in four of the last five years. While the Dubs are expected to be significantly weaker next season, a new set of contenders have emerged.

There are around seven to eight teams who are good enough to win a title next season, including Houston. Nevertheless, FS1’s Chris Broussard believes Harden’s championship window has already closed.

Broussard just made a strong statement there, but he made a lot of great points. First of all, the Rockets had the Warriors beaten two years ago before Chris Paul got injured, but they were unable to capitalize. Last season, Kevin Durant was the one who got hurt, but Houston once again failed to seize the opportunity.

This upcoming season, which is being seen as the rise of superstar duos, the Rockets will parade the offensively explosive tandem of Harden and Russell Westbrook. However, Broussard still believes that they won’t be enough to beat the new powerhouses in the West, particularly the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers.

If Harden fails to win a championship over the next two years, it is safe to say that there’s a very big chance that he’ll retire ringless.
