Celtics’ Enes Kanter reacts to Clint Capela, Rockets trade rumors

Enes Kanter, Celtics, Clint Capela, Rockets

The Boston Celtics are in talks with the Houston Rockets about a Clint Capela trade. Celtics big man Enes Kanter, who is pretty active on Twitter, clearly saw the report and reacted on Twitter:

Kanter signed a two-year deal with the Celtics this past summer. He played for the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers last season.

In 36 games for the Celtics this season, Kanter is averaging 9.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He’s shooting 60.2 percent from the field and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Celtics may have to include Kanter in a trade for Capela, which might not be a bad thing for Kanter since he’s close friends with Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook. The two were teammates on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Capela has appeared in 39 games for the Rockets this season. He’s averaging 13.9 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from the free-throw line. Capela is making $14,896,552 this season. He’s owed $16,000,000 next season, $17,103,448 in 2021-22 and $18,206,897 in 2022-23.

The Celtics are 33-15 on the season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference and could be one player away from becoming the favorites to win the East, although the Milwaukee Bucks still have the best record in the NBA and in the reigning MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo.
