Carmelo Anthony’s failed attempt at rebound after yelling “F–k outta here I got it”

Carmelo Anthony

Another nominee for a Shaqtin’ A Fool appearance this season has surfaced in Houston. Rockets star Carmelo Anthony had a failed attempt at a rebound after confidently yelling, “F–k outta here I got it.”

Here’s the video of Anthony’s laughable defensive sequence through the official Instagram account of Bleacher Report.

We could see that Anthony could have put too much sauce on his rebound attempt, causing him to fumble the ball out of bounds. Don’t blame him for trying hard, though. After all, the 34-year old All-Star is out there convincing his critics that he won’t be a liability in the Rockets’ defense.

The Rockets would lose to the Utah Jazz that night by a score of 100-89. The loss dropped the heavy-favorited Rockets to a 1-3 win-loss card, a disappointing start for last year’s Western Conference runner-up.

Failing to eclipse a double-digit scoring output in his first three games as a Rocket, Anthony dropped a season-high 22 points, on top of 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Anthony also played 38 minutes last night, his most in the past four games.

Despite the viral fumbled rebound that will surely get a nod in Shaquille O’Neal’s popular show, one could argue that Anthony is slowly getting into his comfort zone with his new team. Melo shot poorly in his first three games, only to bounce back with a 53% shooting from the floor, topped with three makes beyond the arc. More impressively, Anthony did not commit a single turnover during his 38-minute stint last night.

The Rockets will face the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Friday.
