Sunday night produced one of the best games we’ve had in the Disney World bubble thus far, as the Houston Rockets emerged victorious in a hard-fought encounter against the league-best Milwaukee Bucks. Reigning league MVP and Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo shared his thoughts after the disappointing loss, and the Al-Star forward provided quite a post-game analysis.
According to Giannis Antetokounmpo, the fact that the Rockets kept the game close for the entire game is something that the Bucks just aren’t used to at this point.
“It’s amazing to beat teams by 10, 20, 30… We learned from this. It’s good to play close games. We don’t play a lot of close games in the other 65,” Antetokounmpo said, via NBA insider Ben Golliver. “The important thing is to get shots. We can’t turn the ball over.”
While Antetokounmpo isn’t wrong here, we can’t help but sense a bit of frustration from his end with his response. Here is the league’s best player on the league’s best team flexing his muscle a little bit after a rather discouraging loss. Giannis just wanted to remind all of us that the Bucks are still the most dominant team in the league, as they usually make easy work of their opponents by defeating them by double digits. This was not the case on Sunday, though.
Giannis did all he could for the Bucks, putting up 36 points on 14-of-25 shooting, along with 18 rebounds, eight assists, two triples, and a block in 33 minutes of action. In the end, the surging Rockets just proved too overwhelming even for the Bucks on this occasion.
