Luc Richard Mbah a Moute has found a new home.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the defensive-minded forward has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets, and will be reunited with his teammate with his former L.A. Clippers teammate in Chris Paul.

The 30-year-old UCLA is a nine-year NBA veteran and has spent the last two seasons in L.A., where he established himself as a versatile big man, who is not afraid to take on some of the best forwards in the league. Mbah a Moute is a decent contributor with career averages of 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, and will add depth to the rotation of the Rockets.

His signing is a welcome addition to the team and is expected to provide them quality minutes off the bench. He can play behind Ryan Anderson (if he isn’t traded), and will be an asset for them as he also has the ability to stretch the floor and occasionally knock down twh topen three, which will give James Harden more room to operate and attack the basket.

More importantly, Mbah a Moute’s move goes to show that the Rockets are not yet done improving their roster. It sends a strong message to the other title favorites that they should also be considered as a serious contender for the championship next season.
