Breaking: Knicks, Rockets working on Carmelo Anthony trade including 4-team deal
The New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets have started working potential trade scenarios that include four-team deals, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. While both sides are motivated to get a deal done, there hasn’t been an imminent agreement on terms to this moment.
A multi-team deal would be the only way these teams could facilitate the acquisition of young assets in return for Anthony.
As always, the more teams involved, the more complicated a trade can get, as one wrong move can offset the entire trade, bringing it to a start from scratch or even a possibility of having a team pull out of the trade scenario altogether.
The Rockets want Anthony and the Knicks want to rid themselves of their All-Star forward and the $54.2 million he is owed during the next two seasons, but it won’t be an easy task to get a trade done unless both teams are willing to make major concessions to make this happen.
