Austin Rivers says he has ‘no problems’ with Rockets star Chris Paul

Austin Rivers says he and Houston Rockets All-Star Chris Paul have a good relationship despite what people think.

When Austin Rivers and Chris Paul were teammates on the LA Clippers, there were rumors that Paul didn’t like Rivers because of the preferential treatment he got from his dad, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.

Then there was the whole “tunnel” fiasco from last season when the Clippers and Rockets played at Staples Center. Rivers got into it with former Houston forward Trevor Ariza, prompting Paul to reportedly lead his teammates down a secret tunnel which led them to the Clips’ locker room.

Rivers, however, says people blow things out of proportion when it comes to him and Paul. Rivers even says he worked out with CP3 this past summer and that they are good friends.

“I have no problems with Chris, as you guys will see,” Rivers said, via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. “Obviously, if I had a problem with Chris, I wouldn’t be here. Chris has a huge input on this team, as he should. He’s a Hall of Fame point guard. If that was that serious, I wouldn’t be here. That will show you that’s not real.

“I know Chris Paul well. I have a relationship with him.”

Rivers is right. If Paul didn’t want him on the team, he wouldn’t be in Houston right now. It looks like the media over-hyped the feud between Paul and Rivers after all.
