Anonymous Houston player hoping front office doesn’t make panic move this summer

An anonymous player on the Houston Rockets is hoping the front office doesn’t make a panic move this summer.

Recent reports have suggested the Rockets are actively trying to move PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela so they possibly acquire Jimmy Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers in a sign-and-trade deal.

This particular player believes the Rockets are very close to being a championship team and that making a big trade this offseason would be a mistake by general manager Daryl Morey:

For the second consecutive postseason, the Rockets got eliminated by the Golden State Warriors. Houston owner Tillman Fertitta was very upset about losing Game 6 at home to the Warriors, who were playing without Kevin Durant. The relationship between stars Chris Paul and James Harden has come into question multiple times this summer. Head coach Mike D’Antoni’s contract negotiation with the Rockets has also been a talking point.

Since the Warriors are going to be a depleted team next season with the injuries to Klay Thompson and Durant (who might not even come back to Golden State), the Rockets might as well bring the same roster back and see if they can finally get to the NBA Finals. However, it currently looks like they’re going to try to make a splashy move.
