Hall of Famer Allen Iverson says that Carmelo Anthony shouldn’t retire yet after his stint with the Houston Rockets.
Carmelo Anthony has found himself in a world of trouble and scrutiny after reports emerged that he will be waived by the Rockets this early in the season, with the general consensus being that he should either retire or take his talents to China.
However, Allen Iverson said that his former Denver Nuggets teammate is still one of the better players in the NBA and should stay in the league, per Shams Charania of the Athletic.

It took just ten games for the Rockets to let go of the All-Star forward that they acquired this summer. The 34-year-old Anthony has seen his numbers drastically dip this season, playing the fewest minutes of his career while having career-lows in field goal attempts, points, rebounds, and assists per game.
The Rockets-Anthony partnership may have failed, but that doesn’t take away the fact that Anthony is still a premier scorer in the NBA. The 10-time All-Star will certainly field in a lot of offers from interested teams, especially those in need of someone who could come in and contribute right away.
Iverson and Anthony became teammates in Denver when the former was shipped out by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2006. They led the Nuggets to two straight playoff appearances. Their partnership was cut short when the Nuggets traded the aging Iverson to the Detroit Pistons in 2008.
A decade after they parted ways in Denver, Iverson is now retired while Anthony is still chasing an elusive championship ring. People love winners and that’s the reason why Anthony’s failure to be successful in the playoffs continues to be scrutinized.
At this point in his career, many expect Anthony to join a contending team to vie for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy.
