Chris Paul admits Russell Westbrook brings an ‘edge’ to Rockets

Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Thunder, Rockets

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul admitted that Russell Westbrook brings an “edge” to the Houston Rockets.

To recall, the Rockets traded Paul to the Thunder in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Houston also had to sent picks and pick swaps to complete the deal.

Now,  according to Paul, he still maintains a good relationship with his former teammates and even with Westbrook.

“I still talk to Tuck just about every day. Gary Clark, talk to him. I hope I don’t get them in trouble. Talk to Russ pretty often. They got a really good team. Russ brings an edge to them,” Paul said, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Paul’s comments came in after their loss to the Rockets, 116-112. Paul himself had 15 points, four rebounds and five assists. Westbrook, meanwhile, had 21 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists.

The Rockets have won two of their first three games of the season. While there are a ton of games left to play, the Rockets are exceeding the critics’ expectations. Some said that the James Harden-Westbrook duo will never work.

However, an early look at this new MVP duo has proven otherwise. While it is inevitable that the two will clash, the effort to coexist is there.

Both Harden and Westbrook have known each other since they were kids. The friendship will always be there. It’s always just a matter of taking time to fully understand each others’ tendencies on the court
