Video: Rockets’ James Harden steals, saves the ball and drains 3-pointer in epic sequence

James Harden, Rockets

Houston Rockets star James Harden did everything he could to help the team avoid elimination at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the Western Conference semi-finals.

The reigning MVP finished with 35 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. He’s carrying the Rockets in his back once again, and it was evident in this play which took place during the third quarter.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, as the Rockets lost to the Warriors 116-110.

Harden was spectacular throughout the series, as he went head-to-head against the four-headed monster that is Golden State. Despite having very little support from his teammates, particularly his backcourt partner Chris Paul, who has been disappointing for the majority of the series, he was still able to lead the Rockets to two victories in the series.

Harden averaged 34.4 points through six games in the second round of the playoffs, making the Rockets look like a one-man team. However, his valiant efforts were once again wasted as he and his team failed to defeat their arch-rivals in the postseason.

For the second straight season, the Rockets lost to the Warriors in the playoffs, but this one might sting a little bit more, as Houston was not able to capitalize on Kevin Durant’s absence (calf strain).

The Rockets will now head into the offseason to once again, find ways to make their team better.
